Max D. Swoveland
Max D. Swoveland, 89, of Ohio City, died at 2:02 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Kindred Hospital in Lima.
He was born August 9, 1924, in Ohio City, the son of the ale Von Cassel and Neoma Luetta (Dilbone) Swoveland. On April 1, 1948, he married Patria Jean (Chambers) Swoveland, who preceded him in death on March 2, 1997.
Survivors include two daughters, Christina (Tom) Chilcote and Dawn (Douglas) Laemmle, both of Van Wert; a son, Dan Swoveland of Ohio City; three grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and his fiancée, Joann Cox.
A brother and sister-in-law, Jon and Sharon Swoveland; one sister, Peggy Jean Swoveland; and a granddaughter, Danielle Jean Swoveland, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastors Steven G. Waterman and Randy Bevington officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Calling hours are from 10 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
