Camera Club reschedules meeting date to April

By Rex Dolby

The Wassenberg Camera Club meeting originally set for March 13 was canceled due to weather conditions.  The club’s next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 10, at 7 p.m. at the Wassenberg Art Center, 214 S. Washington St.

Two area photography clubs are holding meetings open to the public at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, that might be of interest to photographers in the Van Wert area.

The Fort Wayne Photography Club (http://www.fwphotoclub.com) is offering a workshop on “Macro Photography: Arduino Tricks and Photography Tips” – by Larry Kilgore.  The presentation is on macro photography techniques and the use of external devices and props to assist in macro photography. Since this is a hands-on workshop where you bring your camera and best macro lens, anyone coming with a camera needs to sign up, so they will know how many to prepare for. The club meets at the Towne House Retirement Community, 2209 St Joe Center Rd., Fort Wayne, Ind. The club’s website provides directions to the meeting, or you may e-mail dolbys2@embarqmail.com.

The second meeting is provided by the Artspace /Lima Photography Club which meets at the Artspace/Lima facility, located at 65-67 Town Square (that’s in the northwest corner) in Lima. Take Market St. west and turn left onto Main St.. It will be on the left side of the street.  Peter Noyes from Wapakoneta will be covering the topic, “Shooting Flowers”.  The club maintains a Facebook site at “Artspace/Lima Photography Club” for more information.

For more information on the Wassenberg Camera Club, contact the Wassenberg Art Center, 214 S. Washington St. (former Van Wert Armory); you may call 419.238.6837, e-mail info@wassenbergartcenter.org, or visit the website at wassenbergartcenter.org.  Hours during exhibits are Tuesday through Sunday, 1-5 p.m.
