Leadership Class has city sign project
Submitted information
The 2013-2014 Leadership Van Wert County Class sponsored by the Van Wert Chamber of Commerce is underway with their selected community service project. The class selected new “Welcome to the City of Van Wert” signs welcoming visitors to the City of Van Wert. The class is planning for three new signs with locations on U.S. 127 south and north of the city as well as on U.S. 224/Decatur Road on the east side.

The design and structure of the signs will be similar to the Lincoln Highway signs located on the east and west side of the city where brick pillars supports the signs. One of the most notable differences will not only be the design on the sign but the bricks supporting the sign will be engraved with supporters of the project.
The class has chosen to sell engraved bricks to raise the money to fund the $12,000 estimated project cost. Bricks can be purchased for $100 with your choice of name up to be engraved on the brick and used as part of the structure of the sign. The engraved bricks you purchase will be located on one of the six columns it will take to build the structures.
For more information or to receive a form to purchase a brick or multiple bricks, please contact the project officer, Craig Lefeld at 419.852.2358 or by email at craig.lefeld@kfgllc.net. In addition to contacting Lefeld, an order form can be found on the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce website at www.vanwertchamber.com or by contacting any of the following class participants: Tammy Branham, Travis Finkhousen, Barry Johns, Cynthia Leis, Kirk Lichtensteiger, Scott Mull, Gwen Overholt, April Overman, Janet Rode, Erin Shaffer, Wendy Sharp, Cynthia Sinning and Tim Young.
