Donald D. Kraner

Donald D. Kraner, 76, of Rockford, died at 5:19 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Kindred Hospital in Lima.

He was born October 10, 1937, in Portland, Ind., to the late Gerald and Verna E. (Thompson) Kraner. In 2009, he married Yong Cha Smith, who survives in Rockford.

Other survivors include two sons, Wade and Brad Kraner; five brothers, Keith (Mary) Kraner of Marietta, Thomas (Barbara) Kraner of Vinton, Homer (Joy) Kraner of Rockford, Max (Barbara) Kraner of Van Wert and Ronnie Kraner of Florida; and two sisters, Marilyn Clifton of Ohio City and Norma Krueckeburg of Decatur, Ind.

Four brothers, Jack Kraner, Billy Kraner, Richard Kraner and Frank Staude; one sister, Betty Swoveland; and three brothers-in-law, De Lloyd Swoveland, Harold Clifton and Tim Krueckeburg, also preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating.

Calling hours are from noon to the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
