Crestview students started their week off with two days of OGT make-up tests on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday was really the only normal day of their week. Thursday the boys’ basketball team traveled to Columbus for state semi-finals against Tri-Village and came out on top with the 54-50 win and a trip to the championship game. Friday the Knights had a two-hour delay from the state semi-final game ending late on Thursday night.

The band got the students pumped for the game in Columbus by marching through the halls playing drums with the boys basketball team, coaches and cheerleaders trailing behind them. The students followed the team out to the bus to wish them good luck and show their school spirit. Then they were on their way to Columbus.

“When the band and the boys helped get the student body excited for the game on Thursday it was exciting,” said senior Janelle May. “We just needed to be there and be supportive.”

Friday was an exciting day for the Crestview students they were proud of the boys’ team and ready to go help support them for the final game Saturday.  They played very well in the final game and won 71-44 going undefeated the whole season.

“The feeling of going undefeated the whole season was a great accomplishment for the team. I hope that we can make it just as far next year for my senior year,” said junior Preston Zaleski.

Saturday was a busy day for the Knight Vision and Jazz Band as some members performed in the pep band at the state game then came home in order to leave for Disney that evening.

“It was an interesting night. I finished packing for Disney on Friday. Then I went to the game on Saturday and after all of the excitement of the welcoming home after the boys won, all of Knight Vision and Jazz Band had to be back at the school and have taken a shower to load the bus at 11pm,” said junior Courtney Trigg.
