Gary A. Stittsworth

Gary A. Stittsworth, 63, of Fort Wayne, Ind., the love of Marti’s life, died Sunday, March 30, 2014, and entered his heavenly home.

He was born February 7, 1951, in Van Wert, the son of thelate Chester and Madonna Stittsworth.

A member of Christ’s Church at Georgetown in Fort Wayne, where he served 12 years as youth leader, and also as an elder, teacher, and mentor. He also worked as a technical support and design engineer for 30 years at Raytheon in Fort Wayne.

American Flag for obituaries 6-2011He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Martha J. “Marti” (Stripe) Stittsworth; three children, Julie Stittsworth, Jason (Allison) Stittsworth and Jeanie Stittsworth; and three grandchildren, Emma, Amaya and Khloe.

A son, James Christian Stittsworth; and one brother, David Stittsworth, also preceded him in death.

Gary was a devout and godly man of the highest integrity and faithfulness; a man of quiet strength, and a man of wit and humor who blessed us all with love and laughter.

Gary served 20½ years in the Ohio Army National Guard. This tender-hearted man also served as a volunteer with Little League and girls’ softball, was a member of the marching band pit crew and also helped in countless other capacities. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 4, at Christ’s Church at Georgetown, 3131 Maplecrest Road in Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, and an hour prior to services Friday, all at the church.
