Lester G. Glander
Lester G. Glander of Van Wert died at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born January 30, 1919, in West Unity, the son of the late Andrew Glen and Mary E. (Stultz) Glander. On July 24, 1941, he married Lucille Clara (Eutsler) Glander, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include four children, Linda Glander of Angola, Ind., Nancy Gallet of Ashley, Blace Glander of Van Wert and Greg Glander of Venedocia; a sister, Helen Mosier of Van Wert; nine grandchildren, Bobbie Jo Daniels, Charity Smith, Patrick Zabst, James Detter, Josh Detter, Ross Glander, Lance Glander, Greg Glander and Lisa Stull; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A brother, Bud Glander; one sister, Marjorie Ormsby; a grandson, Donald “Chippy” Stewart II; and a great-granddaughter, Shelby Detter, also preceded him in death.
Lester retired from Federal-Mogul Corporation in Van Wert after many years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 178 in Van Wert.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Philip E. Zielinski officiating. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery near Venedocia, with graveside military honors performed by the combined units of Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.
Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, April 6, and an hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
