Grandstaff breaks record at Versailles

VERSAILLES — Mycah Grandstaff finished first in the 3200-meter run in a meet record time 9:47.14 to highlight Crestview participation in the meet. The Knights finished eighth as a team out of 12 squads competing in the Black Division. Minster won the division title with 170 points, while Greenville was second with 78.60 points.
Other Crestview track team members who scored in the meet are as follows: Malcolm Oliver, second in the long jump (18 feet, 3½ inches), the 4×200-meter and 4×100-meter relay teams both finished third; Zack Jellison was fifth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.27 seconds, the 4×800-meter relay team finished sixth in a time of 9:21.54 and Copsey Bogle in the 110-meter hurdles (17.57 seconds) and Isaiah Kline in the 400-meter dash (56.70 seconds) were both eighth in the meet.
The boys’ and girls’ track teams will return to action today in a tri-meet against Lincolnview and Ottoville at home, and then host Lima Central Catholic in a meet on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m.
