Patricia A. (Vorhees) Shivley

Patricia A. (Vorhees) Shivley, 77, of Convoy, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:10 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2014, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Convoy.

She was born May 5, 1936, in Celina, the daughter of the late Russel and Goldie (Silvers) Vorhees. On July 11, 1955, she married Bud L. Shivley, who preceded her in death on May 25, 2008.

Survivor include Jan (Dan Tinnel) Edwards and Sheri (Brian) Tindall, both of Van Wert, and Craig Shivley, Jill (Steve) Diller and Pam (Chris) Motycka, all of Convoy; a brother, Jack (Sandy) Vorhees of Celina; two sisters, Helen Sneddon of Celina and Karen (Michael) Bryant of Michigan; 10 grandchildren, Andrea Sealscott, Courtney Linton, Alison Lyon, Michael Diller, Dan Shivley, Megan Shivley, Adam and Libby Motycka and Lauren and Sam Tindall; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A son-in-law, Beanie Edwards; one brother; and five sisters, also preceded her in death.

Patricia retired from Aeroquip-Eaton Corporation in Van Wert.

She was a woman of strong faith and a member of Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert, where she was involved in the WOW ministries and volunteered in the food pantry.

She was a former member of Twigs, enjoyed entertaining, but her true passion was her family, especially her children, grandchildren and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Private family burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at the funeral home.
