VW tennis team 3rd at Lima tourney

LIMA — The Van Wert boys’ tennis team earned a third-place finish in the annual Lima Tennis Tournament on Saturday.

All of the Cougar tennis players had a strong showing in the tourney. Individual results are as follows:

Lane Mansfield finished fourth at No. 1 singles, while Erik Yeung and Brandon Amstutz finished fourth in A doubles.

Eli Alvarez and Nick Etter were fifth in B doubles, while Gabe Rollins and Kory Schlatter were fourth in C doubles.

Tryston Cowan and Ryan Keber were runners-up in the D doubles category.

“The guys played great and got a lot of tennis experience in today’s tournament, which will help the team out in the upcoming weeks,” said Coach Mitch Price.
