Lincolnview boys win at DSJ; girls 4th

DELPHOS — The Lincolnview varsity track teams competed at the Delphos St John’s track invitational on Saturday.  The boys’ team won the meet scoring 159 points to second place St John’s, who scored 135.  The girls’ team put in a strong fourth place finish scoring 69 points on the day.

The boys got balanced scoring all around, but were led by two athletes who set meet records. Hunter Blankemeyer dominated the hurdles, winning both the 110-meter and the 300-meter races. He set the meet record in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 41.43 seconds, and also won the high jump and anchored the third place 4×400-meter relay team.

Teammate Bayley Tow also set a meet record in the 1600-meter run, winning the distance race in a time of 4:36. Tow also ran on the 4×800 relay, which won the meet and just missed the meet record by 0.4 seconds. Tow also placed fourth in the 800-meter run.

Dalton West placed big in throwing events, winning the discus and finishing second in the shot put.

Placing in the top two for the girls were Hannah McCleery, who was second in the high jump, and Anna Gorman, who placed second in the 3200-meter run.
