Cougar boys down Bath in tennis

The Van Wert boys’ tennis defeated Lima Bath 5-0 in a Western Buckeye League match played Thursday.

Lance Mansfield, Erik Yeung and Brandon Amstutz all won singles victories, while the doubles teams of Nick Etter and Gabe Rollins and Kory Schlatter and Eli Alvarez also won.

“It was another nice win today, even though the weather was not the best,” said Van Wert Coach Mitch Price, noting that the Van Wert junior varsity team also won over Bath.

The team’s focus will now turn to another WBL match with Celina today.
