Elks name Soccer Shootout winners

Van Wert Lodge 1197, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, held its Soccer Shoot this past Saturday at the Elks Lodge. Approximately 25 students participated in the event and were cheered on by parents and grandparents.

In the girls division, U-8 age group, placing first was Ellie Kline, second place was Evangeline Williman and third place was Madelyn Berryman. In the U-10 age group, first place went to Addison Williman, while in the U-12 age group, first place went to Carlee Young and second place to Caitlyn Baker.

In the boyss division, placing first in the U-8 group was Kale Vining.  In the U-10 age group, first place went to Reece Berryman, second place to Jayce Schimmoeller and third place to Isaac Kline. In the U-12 age group, first place went to Dylan Schimmoeller, second place to Anthony Kline and third place to Jace Fast. In the U-14 age group, first place went to Zane Fast and second place to Jace Vining.

The first, second and third place winners each received a trophy, while all the participants received a participant medal.

The first place winners will represent Van Wert Lodge at the Northwest District Soccer Shoot to be held in Findlay on Saturday, June 14.  The winners at the district level will advance to the state contest, which will be held at Coshocton on Saturday, July 26.

“Van Wert Lodge is proud to be able to provide this contest each year for area youths to participate in,” said tom Lee, lodge soccer chairman. “I would like to thank all the parents who brought out their children and stayed to cheer them on.”
