Bonnie Jean (Thornburg) Winstel

Bonnie Jean (Thornburg) Winstel, 84, of Van Wert, died at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

She was born May 17, 1929, in Alton, Kansas, the daughter of the late Raymond  Arthur and Florence Fern (King) Thornburg. She first married Kenneth E. Jenkins, who preceded her in death in 1956. On May 25, 1968, she married Joseph Everett Winstel Sr., who also preceded her in death, on December 28, 2003.

Survivors include a son, Steven E. Jenkins of Van Wert; two brothers, Raymond Arthur Thornburg Jr. of Osborne, Kansas, and Donald Thornburg of Kinnelon, N.J.; two sisters, Ida Lee Schump of Kansas, and Myrna Marie Saunders of Oklahoma; and a grandchild, Walter Winstel of Oklahoma.

A son, Kenneth Edward Jenkins, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Stuart Wyatt officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
