Rosemary Thatcher

Rosemary Thatcher, 90, of Middle Point, died at 12:15 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born January 10, 1924, in Norwalk, the daughter of the late Roger Bruce and Hazel M. (Ewell) McDonald. On May 20, 1944, she married Floyd E. Thatcher, who survives in Middle Point.

Other survivors include four children, Robert E. Thatcher of Houston, Texas, Julie A. Romine of Fort Wayne, Ind., Kathy J. (Kim Yoh, who was Rosemary’s caregiver) Boroff of Middle Point, and Sharon M. Wheeler of Van Wert; a sister, Betty Parish of Defiance; nine grandchildren, Angela (Josiah Baker) Harrison, Terry Boroff Jr., Tyson (Sherry) Boroff, Tyann (Erik) Shipley, Joe Wheeler, Michelle Rich, Bruce Thatcher, Floyd T. Thatcher and Theresa Thatcher; and five great-grandchildren, Oscar Harrison, Phoebe Baker, Riley Boroff, Hayden Boroff and Eleanor Shipley.

Two brothers, Roger McDonald and Robert McDonald, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Thatcher was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 23, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point.

Calling hours are from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
