Latta to hold veterans’ listening sessions

Submitted information

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Representative Bob Latta (R-Ohio) announced that he will hold three listening sessions for veterans throughout Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District on Tuesday, May 27, following recent revelations about delays in care at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

These events are an opportunity for Latta to hear veterans’ concerns and experiences with the VA, as well as any other issues they may be experiencing. Staff will also be on-site to assist with casework.

“Recent revelations about the VA’s mishandling of veterans’ care are absolutely unacceptable,” said Latta. “We owe our veterans an enormous debt of gratitude, and we must do everything in our power to ensure they receive the care they have earned in service to our country.

“This situation demands immediate attention, and these listening sessions will provide an opportunity for me to hear from our veterans about the issues they’re having with the VA, so we can rectify them as quickly as possible,” the congressman added.

The meetings will be held at the following sites:

  • May 27, 9-10 a.m. — American Legion Post 28, 120 W. Indiana Ave., Perrysburg.
  • May 27, 11 a.m.-noon — American Legion Post 3, 120 W. Front St., Findlay.
  • May 27, 2-3 p.m. — Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3360, 201 Clinton St., Defiance.

Veterans do not need to RSVP, but can contact Latta’s office at 800.541.6446 for more information.
