Salvation Army plans movie fundraiser

Salvation Army information

The Van Wert Corps of The Salvation Army will host a showing of the movie How To Train Your Dragon, Part 2 as a fundraising event on Saturday, June 14, at 10 a.m.  The movie will be shown in Cinema 1 of the Van Wert Cinemas and the cost for this showing is just $4, plus a canned good for the food pantry.

Tickets can be purchased early, beginning Tuesday, May 27, and from 9 a.m.-noon and 12:30-4 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Salvation Army Office on South Washington Street; at Citizens National Bank customer service desk during regular business hours (9 a.m.-4 p.m.); at the front desk of the Council on Aging on Fox Road during regular hours, as well as Monday night bingo; and at Carcione Law Office, 113 N. Washington St., from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Tickets will also be on sale in Fountain Park during Peony Festival weekend. Look for the blue and white striped cabana.

All Salvation Army fundraising income goes to support the programs that aid those in the community who are in need of assistance, whether it be food, rent, clothing or a utility bill. This fundraising event is done with the entertainment of children in mind, so stop in at one of these locations and purchase the reduced price tickets for kids, grandkids, neighbors or for oneself – there is no age limit to enjoying a good animated movie.

Regular theater refreshments will be available at their regular prices.
