Dwight L. Custer

Dwight L. “Hoolie” Custer, 100, of Rockford, died at 5:20 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford, where he had been a patient for a short time.

He was born May 22, 1914, in Rockford, the son of the late Frank and Della (Shock) Custer.

Survivors include numerous nephews and nieces and their families.

Two brothers, James and Donald Custer; and two sisters, Irene Carter and Lorrine Patterson, also preceded him in death.

There will be no services or visitation.

Preferred memorials: Rockford Carnegie Library or a charity of the donor’s choice.
