William Russell Burk

William Russell Burk, 68, of Ohio City and formerly of Van Wert, died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima following a battle with cancer.

He was born May 5, 1946, in Van Wert, the son of the late Russell A. and Minnie E. (Wooderson) Burk.

Survivors include a son, Shawn (Renee) Burk of Ohio City; one daughter, Christina (Mark) Nowak of Grover Hill; a sister, DeeAnn Zimmerman; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A brother, David Burk, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
