John Eldon Cramer

John Eldon Cramer, 79, of Port St. Lucie, Florida (and formerly of Van Wert), went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, June 22, 2014.

He was born January 9, 1935, in Ohio City, the son of the late John and Lucille Cramer. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Marcia (Ireton) Cramer, and his son, David Cramer. John and Marcia raised their family in Worthington.

American Flag for obituaries 6-2011John was retired from AT&T and was an integral part of the transition to, and troubleshooting of, digital long distance phone lines. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served as an ET2 on the USS Trumpet Fish submarine in Key West, Florida.

John was an avid fan of Western movies, enjoyed NASCAR racing and never missed a showing of a Duke basketball game.

He is survived by his children, Rick (Kim Tuggle) Cramer of Pensacola, Florida, and William (Wanda) Cramer of Port St. Lucie, Florida; five grandchildren, Brittany Cramer of St. Petersburg, Florida, Reed Cramer and Kevin Cramer, both of Tampa, Florida, and Robert Cramer and Colin W. Cramer, both of Orlando, Florida; two brothers, Charles (Sharon) Cramer of Manning, South Carolina, and Walter (Maria Kruse) Cramer of Dayton; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.

Calling hours are an hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
