Marlins do well in swim meets last week

This past week, the Van Wert YMCA Marlins traveled to Kenton and hosted Ada Lost Creek Community Pool Club at the Van Wert YMCA.  At Hardin County Pool, two Van Wert swimmers, Tyra McClain and Katie McVaigh, won all five of the individual events.  Also claiming first place finishes were (number of events): Ian Rex (2); Jayden Welker (4); Emma Pollock (1); Daniel Miller (1); Risa Pollock (2) and Noah Arend (1).  Jamie Burenga took second in all five of her events.

Against Ada, three swimmers won all of their individual events: Katie McVaigh (3); Sam Houg (5) and Jay Welker (5).  Also with first place finishes were: Lilie Mull (2); Mandy Burenga (1); Emma Miller (2); Tyra McClain (2); Sofia Houg (2); Jamie Burenga (2); Emma Pollock (1); Rickie Welker (1); Noelle Hefner (2); Risa Pollock (2); Erin Miller (1); Aaron Stant (1); Bethany Fast (1); Eric Easley (2) and Sam Easley (1).  All four of Van Wert’s 200 Free relay teams took First Place.
