Brass Transit to perform in Fountain Park

Summer Music Series information

One of the best tribute bands of all time for the band Chicago will be in Van Wert’s Fountain Park tonight at 7 p.m.  It is the third concert in The Van Wert County Foundation sponsored Fountain Park Summer Music Series.

Eight of Toronto, Canada’s, most sought after studio musicians decided to get together and form a tribute to one of the greatest jazz-rock groups of all time: Chicago. The band’s show includes all the hits from Chicago’s golden age.

With a world-class horn section, a rocking rhythm section and vocals stacked sky-high, Brass Transit transports its audience back to the freewheeling days of the Seventies. The band includes veterans of Hall-of-Fame rock and soul acts like the Drifters, Sam and Dave, Aretha Franklin, Ben E. King, the Marvelettes, Frankie Valli, Mary Wilson, Martha Reeves, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Del Shannon and the Mamas and the Papas.

The concert is free and open to the public. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy this outdoor concert.  Food is available from the Van Wert County Dairymen Association beginning at 5:30 p.m.  The group will be grilling burgers, as well as offering a full menu of other food.

The following week’s concert is the traditional Fourth of July celebration with the Lima Pops Orchestra. Youth For Christ will be serving food for that concert.
