Fair passes going on sale in July

With less than 60 days until the kick off the 158th annual Van Wert County Fair, fair passes will go on sale at the Fair Board office starting Monday, July 7.

Fair passes will remain the same price ($18) they were last year, but, new this year, from July 7-15, fairgoers will be able to purchase a ride wristband for a reduced price of only $10. Wristbands will be redeemable on any one fair day chosen by the owner to be used on all eligible fair rides.

For those who wait until July 16, the price will increase to $13 and remain that price until July 23.  Purchasing a wristband after the 23rd or at the fair will cost the normal $15.

The ride wristband offer is only available at the Fair Board office, 1055 S. Washington St. on the Van Wert County Fairgrounds. Also ask about purchasing a commemorative fair basket. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m.-noon.

Fair season passes will go on sale at various locations in the county in early July; however, for Van Wert County residents who want to be voting members, it is necessary to purchase voting membership passes at the Fair Board office.  Five Fair Board members are up for re-lection annually.

This year, residents of Jennings, Liberty, Jackson, York, and Pleasant townships should be sure to get a voting member pass and be an active part of the Van Wert County Fair.
