Mary L. Newland

Mary L. Newland, 82, of Rockford, died at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, at her residence.

She was born January 23, 1932, in Windham, the daughter of the late Albert and Mildred (Needles) Wiedeman. On September 2, 1948, she married Joseph G. Newland, who preceded her in death on September 24, 2013.

Survivors include two children, Robert Newland of Rockford and Jenny Newland of Van Wert; a half-sister, Shirley (Bill) Best of West Columbia, South Carolina; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with Pastor Tony Richmond officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from noon-2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
