Day of Caring drawing winner named

Jessi Hardesty, the 2014 United Way Day of Caring chair, wanted to involve children and United Way agencies in the 2014 Day of Caring.

“I approached Wee Care Learning Center and Lincolnview Latchkey to see if they would ask the children to submit a picture on what the Day of Caring meant for them,” Hardesty noted. “They agreed right away.”
Those children who wanted to, drew a picture of what helping others meant to them. The requirement was that the picture had to say “United Way Day of Caring 2014”.
“So, 57 drawings were submitted and I am proud to announce that the winner is Brice Pruden of Lincolnview Latchkey,” Hardesty noted.
Pruden’s drawing will be the front of the Day of Caring shirts this year and she has chosen lime green for the color.
“I appreciate the agencies participating and especially to Brice for her drawing,” Hardesty said.
This year’s Day of Caring food and blood drive will take place Friday, September 26, while individual agency projects will take place Saturday, September 27.
Anyone who wants to volunteer or participate in a project should call the United Way office at 419.238.6689.
