Jr. Fair king & queen candidates sought

VW County Junior Fair information

The Junior Fair King and Queen Coronation Committee is seeking candidates for Van Wert County Junior Fair king and queen. Those chosen would be ambassadors, not only to the Junior Fair, but also to the entire Van Wert County Fair.

Candidates must be at least 15 years of age and must have an open schedule throughout the fair to perform special duties such as handing out awards and trophies, giving radio interviews, and making special appearances. Any Van Wert County Junior Fair member meeting those qualifications may apply.

New this year are the titles of species prince and princess. Candidates must be at least 15 years of age and also be flexible in their scheduling during fair week. Species included with this application include beef, horses, poultry, sheep, goats, and swine. Applicants may run for more than one species if desired.

Applications are due in to the Van Wert County OSU Extension Office by this Friday, July 18. Applications may be picked up at the Ohio State University Extension Office or by emailing Heather Gottke at gottke.4@osu.edu.
