Geraldine Ellen Cowell

Geraldine Ellen Cowell, 89, of Van Wert, died at 9:54 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born September 20, 1924, in Painesville, the daughter of the late Floyd and Jessie (Myers) Brown. On March 26, 1941, she married Earl Wesley Cowell, who preceded her in death on September 28, 1986.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Cowell of Portland, Oregon; one daughter, Gloria Cowell of Van Wert; two brothers, Robert Brown of Hamler and Carroll Brown of Columbus; two grandsons; a special friend, Kelci Crawford; and many nieces and nephews.

Two brothers, Basil and Donald Brown; and a sister, Thelma Bodenbender, also preceded her in death.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, August 1, at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with the Rev. Jody Harr officiating.

There will be no calling hours.
