Helen L. Geisman

Helen L. Geisman, 97, of Van Wert, died at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born April 22, 1917, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Milton and Sarah (McMillen) Parsons. She married Howard W. Rodman.

Survivors include five children, Patricia (Everett Jr.) Thatcher of Convoy; Phyllis (Dale) Conly of Paulding, Jim (Vivian) Rodman of Churubusco, Indiana, Jan (Richard) Packer of Washington, West Virginia, and Mike (Elaine) Rodman of Franklin, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Ruth Kelly of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren.

Five brothers and five sisters also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 1, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with Pastor Mike Harper officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at the funeral home.
