Audrey Speakman-Jacobs

Audrey Speakman-Jacobs, 88, of Van Wert, died at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Hearth & Home in Van Wert.

She was born August 15, 1925, in Crestline, the daughter of the late Russell and Ermal (Book) Dickson. She first married Ray E. Speakman, who preceded her in death, and then married Calvin L. Jacobs, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two children, Doug Speakman of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Karen Morris of Van Wert; eight grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Shirley Couts; three brothers, Harlan, Doyt and Gary Dickson; two sisters, Cheryl O’Brien and Wanda Volz; and one grandchild, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 2, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 1, at the funeral home.
