L. Keith Edwards

L. Keith Edwards, 76, of Grover Hill, died Saturday, August 2, 2014, at his residence.

He was born July 29, 1938, in Van Wert, the son of the late Thomas Everett and Margaret Bernice (Miller) Edwards. On August 1, 1960 — 54 years ago — he was united in marriage to Rebecca “Becky” (Thitoff) Edwards, who survives.

Mr. Edwards was a trucker for more than 45 years, and, for 27 years, he and his son were co-owners in D&K Unlimited.

He enjoyed his family, trucks, his 1931 Ford coupe, gardening, working in the yard, and he truly enjoyed his dog, Sassy. He took much pride in his Welsh heritage.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Don Edwards of Delphos, Dan (Holly) Edwards of Grover Hill and Doug (Nikki) Edwards of Van Wert; a daughter, Julie (Timothy) Taylor of Grover Hill; two sisters, Virginia Smith of Virginia and Patricia Shambarger of Ada; a brother, Richard Edwards of Van Wert; seven grandchildren, Ariel Edwards, Ashleigh (Scott) King, Danielle (Joe) Greco, Scott (Bridget) Edwards, Jayde and Justus Connor, and Adyson Edwards; and three great-grandchildren, Anoryia, Zade and Karighan King.

Two brothers, Kent “Bud” and Tim Edwards, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, at Harter and Schier Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Jody Harr officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
