VW Outdoorsmen awarded NRA funding

The National Rifle Association Foundation recently provided $13,000 in grant money to the Van Wert County Outdoorsmen Association to fund programs developed to promote youth and women’s shooting sports programs.
Additional funds were also granted for range improvements.
“The NRA Foundation is committed to ensuring that the Shooting Sports are made available the public,” said Ohio NRA Representative Marc Peugeot. “Training and education programs that the Van Wert County Outdoorsmen Association Inc. offers are very important. They ensure the future generation has an opportunity to enjoy the sport in a safe setting under the supervision of certified firearms trainers.”
This year’s Founding Freedom Friends of the NRA fundraiser will be on Saturday, August 16,at the Van Wert Elks Lodge, 1197 Elks Drive in Van Wert (off Van Wert-Decatur Road). Doors will open at 5 p.m.
