Rolland G. ‘Red’ Pollock

Rolland G. “Red” Pollock, 87, of Van Wert, died at 7:12 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born June 18, 1927, in Middle Point, the son of the late Joseph Err and Mary Ethel (Downhour) Pollock. He married Bonnie Lou (Smith) Pollock, who preceded him in death on March 29, 1996. He then married Leone F. (Swartz) Drake Pollock, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include four children, Cynthia (David) Streicher of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Michael A. (Kimberly) Pollock of Perrysburg, and Loretta (Greg) Wahmhoff and Christopher G. Pollock, both of Van Wert; three stepchildren, Danny D. (Billie) Drake of Wetzel, Troy Drake of Rockford and Lana Davies of Wilmington, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A stepson, Scott E. “Skipper” Drake; one sister, Ruth Mihm; and a grandchild, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 15, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Mark McKay officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, August 14, at the funeral home.
