VW Outdoorsmen planning Ladies Day

The Van Wert County Outdoorsmen Association will be having a Ladies Day Only at the range on Saturday, August 23, from 9-11:30 a.m., for the morning session and 12:30-3 p.m. for the afternoon session.

The special Ladies Day for women who could not make it to the spring session and are novices around firearms or who feel uncomfortable with them. The association will have .22-caliber rifles and .22 pistols for participants to use. Hearing and eye protection is provided.

The group will also have NRA certified instructors and range safety officers to teach this class. Women can be new to shooting sports or just have questions they would like answered.

This would be a great class for mothers and daughters to take together to learn more about firearms. Participants may be as young as 10 years old, but must be accompanied by their mother or grandmother.  This is a free day for women, so there is no fee for this program.

The association will accept the first 14 women per session to register. Preregistration is required to participate.
