Helen Pauline Shinabery

Helen Pauline Shinabery, 93, of Van Wert, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born July 29, 1921, in Ohio City, the daughter of the late Peter W. and Loretta Louetta (Rayer) Wiseman. On October 17, 1941, she married Darlene M. Shinabery, who preceded her in death on December 17, 1993.

Survivors include five children, Sandi (James) Allmyer of Mason, Bruce (Marcella) Shinabery of Van Wert, Brent Shinabery of Rockford, Vikki (Kerry) Kauffman of Decatur, Indiana, and Victor (Donna) Shinabery of St. Marys; a sister, Thelma “Tootie” Allen of Rockford; seven grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; a great-grandson; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Four brothers, Paul Wiseman, Waldo Wiseman, Robert Wiseman and Lloyd F. “Bud” Wiseman; and two sisters, Emma Lou Myers and Marcile Edna McDougal, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Chad Strabbing officiating. Burial will be in Dayton National Cemetery.

Calling hours are from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
