HEBRON — The Lincolnview boys’ varsity team competed in the third annual OHSAA preseason invitational held on the state cross country course in Hebron.
The Lancer boys ran in the Division II-III combined race and came away with the championship trophy placing ahead of 21 other schools. The Lancers were led by two top 10 finishes: Bayley Tow placed third and Alex Rodriguez placed sixth overall.
Rounding out the scoring was Colton Snyder (19th), Trevor Neate (20th), Tracey West (21st), Tyler Brant (28th), Brayden Farmer (54th), and Troy Thompson (62nd). The boys scored just 63 points. Preseason state ranked DII Unioto scored 98 to place 2nd.
“It was a good start for the boys,” said Lincolnview Coach Matt Langdon. “We knew, based on camp, that we had the potential to significantly improve from last season and this race showcased that.
“We ran very aggressively the last half of the race and were able to get our top six in the top 30 of the race,” Coach Langdon added. “I was very pleased with the way that we competed given this early stage in the season; now we can focus on the regular season and start the process of improving and getting better.”
