Van Wert v-ball team edges Blue Jays

The Van Wert Cougars traveled to Delphos to take on the St. John’s Blue Jays. The temperature in the gym was extremely hot and the match was all that you could ask for. The Blue Jays pulled out the first two sets by scores of 25-22 and 25-23. The Cougars weren’t going to let go of the match that easy, though. They pushed really hard and showed which team had the drive to get the job done.

Van Wert took the next set 25-21, and no one questioned after that point that the Cougars were going to take this game back. Van Wert won the next game and never looked back, winning the fourth game 25-15 and the finale 15-11.

The Cougars will be back in action tonight at home when they take on Kalida.The match features the freshman, junior varsity and varsity teams. Game time is 4:30 p.m.

The Cougars are now 3-0 on the season.

The JV team also defeated Delphos St. John’s, in three games.
