All four Wassenberg Camera Club officers and three club members were on hand Sunday afternoon at the fair grounds to take in photos for the Van Wert County Fair’s Photography Exhibit. Members not only recorded the entries, but also hung the pictures in attractive way in the proper locations, and assisted entrants, when needed, in attaching wire hangers and remounting pictures. The recording job was not difficult, but did require concentration because each picture could be either a senior or junior entry, either color or black and white, and one of five classes. This meant that as many as ten photos could be entered by a photographer.

At the end of the session, 58 people had submitted 220 photographs for judging.  This compares to 217 photos received last year. This year’s classes are: At the Fair, Flowers, Reflections, Around the Farm, and Special Effects. There is a good number of excellent images to be seen this year.

Anyone wishing to purchase a picture should leave his or her name and contact information along with the information on the picture tag at the desk. We will contact the photographer and they in turn, will contact the buyer.

The club’s next regular meeting will be Thursday, September 11, at 7 p.m. at the Wassenberg Art Center. “Summer Scenes” will be the competition theme in prints and slides.

If you have any questions regarding our camera club, classes or programs or would like to sign up please call the Wassenberg Art Center at: 419.238.6837, email: info@wassenbergartcenter.org or register for classes online at: wassenbergartcenter.org.
