Lady Cougars lost 1st match to O-G

The Van Wert Cougars were back in action last night to take on the Ottawa-Glandorf Titans in their opening Western Buckeye League game.

Van Wert played hard in the match, but was just not able to put the Titans away. The Cougars came out strong and led the first game, but just couldn’t keep the momentum going to get the WBL win. The scores for the match were 20-25,17-25 and 21-25.

The junior varsity was also defeated by O-G in two games, 20-25 and 9-25. Both varsity and JV are now 4-1 on the season. They will be back in action at home on Tuesday, September 2, when they play Ottoville. The freshman team will play Wayne Trace at 4:30 p.m., with JV and varsity matches to follow.
