Anita Mae Weeder

Anita Mae Weeder, 103, of Van Wert, died at 7 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2014, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born June 15, 1911, in Auglaize County, the daughter of the late Melvin F. and Hannah (Zimmerman) Metzger. On March 5, 1938, she married Clair Wilbur Weeder, who preceded her in death on June 15, 2011.

Survivors include three daughters, Sharon L. Blank of Van Wert, Marilyn A. (William) Morgan of Venedocia and Debra J. (Robert) Keppel of Tipp City; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Five brothers, Richard, Herbert, Burdette, Clifford and Theodore Metzger; a sister, Helen Bell; and one son-in-law, Robert Blank, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 4, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. William C. Haggis II officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.

Preferred memorials: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Van Wert, Brumback Library or the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
