Robert Wayne Stover

Robert Wayne Stover, 80, of Rockford, died at 5:34 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2014, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born September 2, 1933, in Chattanooga (Ohio), the son of the late Wilbur and Beatrice (Gephart) Stover. On August 13, 1952, he married Doris (Becher) Stover, who preceded him in death on March 18, 2006.

Survivors include three sons, Brian (Brenda) Stover, Rod (Kelly) Stover and R. Thomas Stover, all of Rockford; two daughters, Cindy (Keith) Canary and Julia (Todd) Henkle, both of Rockford; a brother, Donald (Rose Ann) Stover of Goshen, Indiana; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Two sons, Dennis Wayne and Ted Alan Stover; and one sister, Virginia Bourelle, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 6, at St. John Lutheran Church in Hopewell, with Pastor Karen Tamorria officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Calling hours are from 3-8 p.m. Friday, September 5, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Preferred memorials: Rockford Recreational Department or the Parkway Booster Club.
