Children’s Garden concert announced

The final Children’s Garden Concert will be this Friday evening, September 5. Come and enjoy the music of Kelly McRae at the Children’s Garden at Smiley Park. Admission is $10, and all proceeds go to the Lighting of the Children’s Garden ceremony that will take place November 26.

McRae performs as an acoustic duo with her husband, Matt. They have been traveling the last few years in their Volkswagen van, and the people they meet and places they travel during their journey has inspired her songs.

The duo has performed in places such as the “Bluebird Cafe” in Nashville, Tennessee, and “The Red Clay Theatre” in Atlanta, Georgia. They previously lived in New York City, but are currently based in North Carolina.

Show time for the concert is 8 p.m. If there is inclement weather, the concert will be moved to The Black Swamp Bistro on East Main Street in downtown Van Wert.

There will be free popcorn available at the concert.
