County DARE program sets fishing derby

The Van Wert County DARE program will hold its annual fishing derby this Saturday and Sunday, September 6-7, at the Middle Point Quarry.

Cost is $50 for both days for adults and $30 for one day. Youngsters 17 and under can fish for half that price.

Price money of $50 will be awarded for the largest fish by weight caught, as well as total weight of five fish, each day. Fishing is from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. Fishing is from a boat only and trolling motors are allowed.

Those wanting to participate can register the day of the event. So come out to fish and support the county DARE program at the same time.
