Area residents asked to help food drive
United Way of VW County information

The United Way of Van Wert County Day of Caring food drive is in full swing! Barrels are set out around town, and the public is asked to help by filling them with non-perishable food items to help restock the Salvation Army Food Pantry. The barrels will be out for donations until Friday, September 26.
The goal of this year’s food drive is 30,000 items to restock the Salvation Army food pantry that assists hundreds of families in need each year. On average, the Salvation Army food pantry distributes 10,000 items per month. The 30,000 items collected for the United Way of Van Wert Day of Caring only last until December or January.
In addition to the donation barrels, challenges are taking place among the county service clubs, industries, and schools. Those interested can find a list of donation barrel locations on the United Way of Van Wert County’s website at www.unitedwayvanwert.org or by calling the United Way office at 419.238.6689.
The United Way of Van Wert County encourages area residents to ‘Live United’ and thanks them for their support!
