The visiting Defiance Bulldogs scored a 166 to hand the Cougars another loss in Western Buckeye League golf action.

Van Wert was led by Brandon Hernandez, who shot 40 and tied for second with Matt Belland of Defiance. Cougar junior Jacob Covey matched his season low with a 45 as well. Match medalist was Bulldog DJ Gustwiller, who bested the field with a 39.

Van Wert finishes WBL regular season play Monday at Wapakoneta and currently is 2-6, while Defiance moves to 6-2 in league play.
