Knights in the castle

This week the brand new cast of “Shrek” has been practicing their parts for the upcoming musical. “I am most excited about how the upperclassmen get into character,” said freshman Becca Daugherty. The musical will be performed on Nov. 14 and 15 at Crestview High School.

The varsity golf team hosts Columbus Grove, Lincolnview, and Paulding at home on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 4 p.m. Junior Cyler Miller said, “I think we have a good chance to win the match if everybody plays well.” The team also travels to the Colonial Golf Club in Harrod, OH, for the NWC match against Allen East and Lincolnview today.

This Friday the FCCLA club will be selling spirit wear at the home game against Bluffton before the game and during halftime. Items for sale include eye black, tattoos, and nail decals. “The word hasn’t gotten out yet, but it’s catching on,” said FCCLA advisor Mrs. Ali Sawmiller.

The varsity soccer team will also be handing out t-shirt order forms at their game this Saturday at 10 a.m. against Kenton for the “Kick for the Cure” game to be held on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. Last week, they played against Lima Senior and lost, 0-1. This Tuesday at 7:30 pm, the Lady Knights host Allen East.

On Saturday, Sept. 20, the varsity cross country team competes against Lincolnview and Van Wert at the Van Wert Hospital Cross Country Invite at 8 a.m. “Every week we try to get a little bit better, and it’s a nice meet because it’s close to home for fans to watch the team perform. It’s putting us closer to the big meets of the year, like the NWC and District,” said Coach Jeff Bagley.
