“Summer Scenes” recall the season
By Rex Dolby

The Wassenberg Camera Club held its regular meeting Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Wassenberg Art Center. “Summer Scenes” was the competition theme for slides and prints. Chris Wilson’s photo of the Children’s Garden at Smiley Park won the slide division and Joe Schramm’s photo of Clifton Mill won the print division. There was a tie for second place in prints however, which was resolved when the revote gave second to Will Hawkins’s Michigan balloon at the Hot Air Affair.
Wilson reported that he’d calculated all the hours on the “sign in/out sheets” put in by members in the various responsibilities for the fair’s photo exhibit. It came to just over 131 hours.
Photographers who receive notification of their work being accepted for the Wassenberg’s 37th Annual Photography Exhibit are reminded to take their entries to the Art Center at 214 South Washington Street no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2. The club’s next meeting will be on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Wassenberg Art Center. “Fall Scenes” will be the
