Cougar girls lose to Wapak in WBL tennis

The Van Wert girls’ tennis team hosted league-leading and undefeated Wapakoneta on Friday, losing 5-0 in Western Buckeye League action.

The closest match was between Cougar No. 1 singles player Ali Moreland and Wapak’s Kristine Shannon, with Shannon winning the first set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (4), and then getting a service break in the second set to win 6-3.

With the win, the Lady Redskins go to 15-0 overall and 9-0 in the WBL, while Van Wert falls to 0-11 overall and 0-9 in league play.
