Cougar volleyball team wins tri-match
Van Wert volleyball information
The Van Wert Cougars were back in action on Saturday with a tri-match at home with Wayne Trace and Bryan.
The first match of the day was between Bryan and the Lady Cougars. The Cougars came out blazing against the Golden Bears, defeating them in two games: 25-6 and 25-13. The second match of the day for the Cougars was with the Wayne Trace Raiders.
The Cougars came out strong and defeated the Raiders 25-15. The second game was a very close game that had the Raiders finishing on top 24-26.
The final game Van Wert led the entire way, winning by a final score of 25-17. The Cougars are now 10-2 on the season and 3-1 in the Western Buckeye League.
The Van Wert junior varsity defeated Bryan in the first match and Wayne Trace in the second. The Cougar JVs are now 9-3 on the season.
Cougars will be back in action tonight as they travel to Convoy to take on their local rivals, the Crestview Knights. The JV game starts at 5:30 p.m.
