The Cougars wanted to continue their path with another win in the WBL but found themselves on the downside for the night. The night began with the bad news that Alexis Dowdy was out for the season due to an injury sustained in the Powder Puff football game the night before.

The young line-up played hard and prevailed in the first game 25-21. The second and third game was decided by only two points each game, with the Cougars having the opportunity to prevail but just fell short by scores of 23-25 and 25-27.

The fourth and final game of the evening was just not going to happen for the Cougars, as they lost 8-25. Van Wert’s record is now 10-4 on the season and 3-2 in the WBL. The Cougars will be back in action at home as they host the Van Wert Invitational this Saturday.

The Van Wert junior varsity team beat Bath in two games, 25-17 and 25-6. The Cougar JVs are now 10-4.
