Kick for the Cure

On Saturday, Crestview’s girls’ soccer team hosted the fifth annual Kick for the Cure game versus Van Wert. Through t-shirt sales and $1 donation nametags both teams together raised  $315. The teams donated all funds raised to a player’s mom who is currently battling breast cancer, Jennifer Strabbing. Murphy’s Trash Services of Van Wert generously matched all funds raised by both teams and then some with a $500 donation to Strabbing. “It is my hope that this donation will help the Strabbing family as they stay strong in Jennifer’s battle against breast cancer,” said Joy Short, owner of Murphy’s Trash Services while presenting a check to the Strabbing family. Both teams played a hard-fought game with Van Wert getting the victory 2-0 over the Knights.
